The Status of Women in Islam
September 1, 2010 - الأربعاء 23 رمضان 1431
I was approached by a very dear friend of mine who needed help in debunking some utterly false and downright hateful claims made by Christian Evangelical, Franklin Graham, in an interview which recently aired on CNN. I’ll spare you the excruciating pain of actually watching the interview, so I’ve outlined his main “points” below and will attempt to respond to each of them with credible references from the Qur’an and Hadith – the only true sources for Islamic jurisprudence.
The Importance of Masjid Al-Aqsa
July 3, 2010 - السبت 23 رجب 1431
Glorified (and Exalted) be He (Allah) Who took His slave (Muhammad SAW) for a journey by night from Al-Masjid-al-Haram (at Makkah) to the farthest mosque (in Jerusalem), the neighbourhood whereof We have blessed, in order that We might show him (Muhammad SAW) of Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons, signs, etc.). Verily, He (Allah) is the [...]

South Park, Revolution Muslim, and False Flag Attacks – Part 1
By now, we’ve all seen or at least heard about the recent South Park episode, in which the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is portrayed (in a bear suit), and the reaction it has garnered from a fringe-radical group, Revolution Muslim. Needless to say, the media’s portrayal of this controversy has been sub-par, but what else is new, right? In part 1 of this 2-part post, we learn a little bit of background on the issue, as well as analyze the mainstream media’s response to the controversy.

Martyred at the Buffer Zone
The Gaza Freedom March may have passed, but Palestinians in Gaza continue to march for their freedom on a daily basis. They are protesting the illegal, Israeli buffer zone, pretty much every day now and the IDF has not held back in their response. Today, a young Palestinian protester was shot and killed by an Israeli bullet, while peacefully protesting the theft of his land.

Following what is referred to as the “Christmas Day bomb plot” last year, Washington has pledged to boost airport security measures. Initially, their plan was mandatory enhanced screening of all passengers from 14 (mostly Muslim) nations. On Friday, DHS unveiled their new plan to ‘begin’ profiling all US-bound passengers. What does this mean for you? and How will this affect your next trip? If you’re flying into the US soon, you’ll definitely want to check this out.

Muhammad in the Bible, Torah, and Qur’an
The clash between Muslims, Christians, and Jews resembles the feud that exists between siblings. They all come from the same father (Abraham) and follow the same prophets of the same God, yet ironically the true enemies of God have succeeded in dividing us by forcing us to focus on our differences rather than our staggering [...]

Al-Azhar’s Future: A Chance for Alternative Movements? (VIDEO)
Last week, Sheikh Mohamed Sayed Tantawi, Alazhar University’s top cleric, passed away of a heart attack at the age of 81. He was indeed a very controversial figure both within Egypt, as well as the Muslim world as a whole. As Egypt scurries to find a replacement for Sunni Islam’s most prestigious seat of Islamic learning, many are wondering what this means for the future of Al-Azhar, its role, and whether it has been hijacked by the state. Will this be an opportunity for alternative movements to come into play? Or will it once again, be more of the same?
